Democratic Senator on the Judiciary Committee seeks a Legislative Counsel. Experience with and knowledge of issues including intellectual property, immigration, criminal justice reform, civil rights, constitutional law, and antitrust strongly desired. The position would also handle the critical Indian Affairs portfolio. The position requires strategic thinking and strong analytic ability. The ability to effectively communicate analysis in both oral and written format is essential. Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to: planning legislative strategy, coalition building, preparing for hearings, team management, and writing memos, speeches, and talking points. Ideal candidates should have experience with congressional investigations, must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong legal, negotiation, and legislative skills. J.D. required and substantial Hill and/or relevant work experience preferred.
