Digital Producer/Content Specialist
The American Alliance of Museums (AAM) is seeking a digital producer with strong project management skills to join the content team for a one-year-term position. If you enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have an interest in museums, please consider joining us!
In this role, you will assist in the administration and coordination of editorial workflows for the Alliance blog, Museum magazine, and digital media platforms, as well as providing general project management and administrative support to the AAM content team. Salary is low to mid $50s.
Skills and qualifications: The successful candidate can manage a high volume of workflow with multiple stakeholders using project management programs (we currently use Asana and Confluence) and has a high degree of comfort with technology and knowledge of different digital publishing platforms (we currently use Wordpress). You should have strong communication skills; a collaborative, team-focused working style; an ability to manage, synthesize, and disseminate information for delivery via multiple digital channels; and strong organizational abilities.
How to apply: In order to encourage a broad pool of candidates with various backgrounds to apply and to mitigate any potential implicit bias during our review of applications, we are applying some principles of “blind hiring.” Please follow the directions below when submitting your application materials:
- Submit a cover letter and resume as attachments to: email@example.com, using “Digital Producer & Content Specialist" in the subject line. Please do not include your name or address on either document. Please include your level of education but omit school names and graduation years. Include your email address as the only personal identifier on these documents.
- As part of your cover letter, please describe an example of a piece of online content you’ve published. Please include details about the work you did (software or programs used), the process you employed to manage the project, and how you measured the success of the piece.
- Limit your cover letter to no more than two pages.
To receive full consideration, we must receive applications by October 1, 2018. Our hiring team will review submissions and contact selected candidates by email within three weeks of this deadline. Due to the large number of applications AAM receives, we can only contact those candidates selected for further screening.
