Endocrinologists are at the core of solving the most pressing health problems of our time, from diabetes and obesity to infertility, bone health, and hormone-related cancers. The Endocrine Society is the world’s oldest and largest organization of scientists devoted to hormone research and physicians who care for people with hormone-related conditions. Our inclusive community is made of scientists, physicians, educators, nurses, and students in 122 countries.
We have invested in a redesign of our website to better promote the value of endocrinology and the user experience, and we are seeking a dynamic Web Editor who will showcase and manage our content. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, editing, and publishing compelling organizational web content for the Society’s websites and applications. You will maintain content so that it is accurate and up to date while ensuring that all sites are creative, informative, and easy to navigate. Our ideal candidate has a hands-on and collaborative approach to manage and support cross-departmental digital projects.
What you’ll bring to the job:
  • Minimum BA/BS degree in Communications, Journalism, Liberal Arts, English, or related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in editorial copywriting and content creation for the web.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and experience with SEO tools.
  • Proficiency in User Experience (UX) heuristics, Customer Journey Mapping, and UX testing.
  • Experience with Sitecore, Coveo, google analytics and google AdWords.
  • Experience in content taxonomy, hierarchies, and tagging.
  • Working knowledge with Wordpress, netForum and Learning Management Systems (LMS) a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, and organizational skills.
  • Must have an excellent attention to detail. 
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.

What you’ll own:
  • Work with staff and subject matter experts to plan, update, publish, and measure performance of content and messages across multiple digital platforms.
  • Monitor existing web digital usage and provide recommendations for optimal user engagement, including changes to site navigation, design, content, structure, and functionality. This includes analyzing, managing, and optimizing web statistics resources (currently Google Analytics and Tag Manager).
  • Oversee and administer process workflows that involve content updates to Society websites.
  • Collaborate on digital content, marketing, and communications strategies by advising on best practices and efforts to maximize Society’s goals.
  • Perform on-page search engine optimization activities.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and practices; evaluate and recommend new technologies as ongoing part of Society’s digital strategy.
  • Incorporate user experience principles and customer-first mindset into web content, navigation, and design.
  • Select and manage business partners involved in the operation and development of the Society’s digital strategy. Provide vendor and contract management.

  • Make decisions and solve problems involving varied levels of complexity, ambiguity and risk. Take charge of a group when it is necessary to facilitate change, overcome an impasse, face issues, or ensure that decisions are made.
