Law Clerks 225895
Senator Blumenthal (D-CT) is seeking law clerks for the spring 2021 semester. Law clerks serve on the legislative team that manages the Judiciary Committee portfolio for Senator Blumenthal. Law clerks are responsible for helping to advise senior staff and the Senator on legislative decisions, as well as drafting legislation, conducting legal and policy research, and composing written materials. Law clerks may also collaborate with staff members on issues and matters outside the jurisdiction of the Judiciary Committee—depending on the needs of the office and the interests of the student. Law clerks must be able to write quickly and clearly, be flexible in adjusting to changing circumstances and legislative priorities, and be self-starters capable of taking responsibility for complicated, ongoing projects. Applicants must either be currently enrolled in an accredited JD program, or have a JD from an accredited program. Demonstrated interest in public service is preferred. To apply, please submit, as a single PDF and in the following order, a one-page cover letter, a one-page resume, a three- to five-page writing sample, and a current transcript to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating the job referral number in the subject line. This is an unpaid position. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until November 6, 2020.
