  • Research, collect and aggregate data on issues critical to Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s federal legislative priorities.
  • Attend coalition meetings, Capitol Hill visits, and Congressional hearings on behalf of BGCA
  • Create and update critical biographical and background information on Members of Congress and stakeholders.
  • Assist with planning and support of BGCA’s fly-ins and/or other Government Relations events.
  • Support thought leadership opportunities as assigned.
  • Assist with production and editing of government relations & advocacy materials and internal documents.
  • Support collection of relevant Club and youth stories related to BGCA priority issues to further enhance BGCA advocacy efforts.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Must be enrolled at an undergraduate 2 or 4 year college/university or equivalent work experience

Government Affairs Summer 2026 Internship

Ducks Unlimited seeks a motivated college student or recent college graduate to serve in our Washington, DC office as an intern for the Summer 2026 session, to start in early June. This person will assist in all facets of carrying out the public policy priorities of this office, including but not limited to assisting with major policy and fundraising events, tracking legislation, attending Congressional hearings and representing Ducks Unlimited at coalition and partner meetings when necessary.

Policy and Data Analysis Intern

The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is an award-winning, independent global non-profit research organization dedicated to designing and implementing policies that address the impacts of the global transportation sector on climate change and public health. You will report to a Senior Researcher in ICCT’s Modeling Center.

You Will:

  • Track and compare environmental transportation policies adopted or proposed by national governments, states, and cities.
  • Analyze and incorporate datasets relating to fleet/vehicle characteristics and energy/emissions performance into our models.

You Have:

  • A strong academic record in engineering, economics, policy, transportation, environment, or energy studies as a rising senior or a graduate student.

Our Benefits:     

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) internship opportunity that will be based in our Washington, D.C., or San Francisco office for 12 weeks and have an hourly rate starting at $23.87(DC) or $26.25(SF). Intern, Public Policy & Research

For more than 100 years, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has been the foremost representative of and advocate for the U.S. lodging industry. We are the only national association that represents all segments of an industry that is among the 10 largest business sectors in America. We advocate for our members so they can do their best at what matters most: serving guests, employees, and their communities.

AHLA offers paid summer internship opportunities: in government relations, membership services, and communications. We strive to offer a comprehensive internship program that provides insight into association work and vast exposure to the hotel and lodging industry, including hands-on learning and the opportunity to create a relevant portfolio to present to future employers.

Interns will be based at our headquarters in D.C., where they will participate in initiatives such as policy, advocacy, communications, member engagement, strategic partnerships, or one of our many AHLAF programs. Interns will also participate in training and development opportunities. The program starts in June and finishes in August. Interns will be paid $25/hr bi-weekly and will be expected to work 40 hours per week. Support the Public Policy and Research team through targeted legal, regulatory, and data-driven projects that advance the association’s advocacy priorities. Responsibilities include conducting legal and policy research, drafting concise summaries of federal, state, and local bills regulatory developments. The intern will assist in briefings on Capitol Hill, draft research memoranda, letters, and provide data analytics. The role also includes building and maintaining policy-relevant databases, including tools that align hospitality properties with government stakeholders, and contributing to broader research initiatives that inform strategic advocacy and member engagement.

Government Affairs Intern

Integrate is seeking a part-time or full-time Government Affairs Intern to support our Washington, DC office and work directly with our Managing Director of Washington Operations. This role is a great opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of government, national security, and startup operations. You’ll help track legislation and policy developments, prepare briefing materials, support business development efforts, and assist with office operations. No two days will look the same — one day you might be summarizing a new space policy memo, the next attending a Hill meeting or industry event.
